I recently visited the breathtaking ArtisTree Selects: The Jewel System by Sara Shakeel (22 March - 27 April 2025, ArtisTree, 1/F, Cambridge House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong), and I’m still in awe of the shimmering, cosmic energy that filled the space. The way Sara’s art dances with light and emotion sparked something deep within me as a life-inspired artist. I couldn’t help but create a few digital calligraphy pieces, blending my love for calligraphy and abstract art, capturing the dreamy essence of the exhibition.

As I played with my digital tools, I felt a surge of freedom—like I was writing my heart into the cosmos. This experience reminded me why I do what I do: to inspire others to find their own creative voice through art. So, I’m sharing a few tips from my process to help you add some sparkle to your own digital calligraphy:

Style 1: DM to get my brush (still for free!), then follow your heart and write at a fast, irregular speed for that raw, expressive vibe.

Style 2: For a blurry background that makes your writing pop, add an extra layer and use “Perspective Blur” from the Adjustments drop-down—it’s magic!

Style 3: Want smoother lines in @procreate? Go to Brush Settings, increase ‘Stabilization,’ but watch the speed—it might feel different at first.
